How Scrap Gold Buyers Calculate Payouts

Scrap gold buyers purchase jewelry, dental gold, and broken pieces based on the melt value — the pure gold content worth. They then pay you a percentage of that melt value, typically between 70% and 95%. The percentage depends on the quantity, the buyer's margins, and refining costs.
